Revival Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 12:55 pm

To All:

Wow – what a week!

We started revival on Sunday, August 29, with the Pooler Family – and I must say – what a week we have experienced!

We were scheduled to end on Friday night, September 3.

The Pooler Family graciously agreed to stay through Sunday, September 5.

Attendance was off the charts!
Sunday AM – August 29 – 180 at the main campus (not including the Hispanic Campus)
Sunday PM – August 29 – 108

Wednesday – September 1 – 136 for a mid week service (not including the Hispanic Campus)

Sunday AM – September 5 – 165 at the main campus (not including the Hispanic Campus)
Sunday PM – September 5 – 112

We had several special guests throughout the week including Bishop Chris Dutruch and Bishop Brian Tillman.

Worship was AWESOME!!!
Each night the power and presence of God was felt in a mighty way!

Folks lives were touched in a special way – folks were saved and several of our new families were there every night and God blessed them for their dedication!

I’m so excited about the future of Ocoee Church of God – while I’m not sure of all that God is doing in our midst – I’m sure of one thing – I want to be right in the middle of it!

If you are in the West Orange area of Central Florida – come be with us at Ocoee Church of God.

Service times are Sundays at 8:30am, 11am and 6pm. Mid-week services are on Wednesdays at 7:30pm.

Blessings!

Sunday Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 9:54 am

To All:

Yesterday was Miracle Sunday for Ocoee Church of God.

Ten weeks ago, we seeded to the congregation nearly $1,500 in cash as ‘talents.’

Since then we have worked to multiply our talents for God’s Kingdom.

During our 8:30am and 11am worship services yesterday, we returned our talents with the increase.

As of last night, the total amount collected from our Talent Campaign was $10, 657.91.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!

Also, Rev. Michael Renfroe was scheduled to minister during our pm worship service yesterday – but God had other plans!

The Spirit of God began moving during the special music and folks begin filling the altars!

We are scheduled to start revival next Sunday with Rev. Duane Pooler – I would say that we are having REVIVAL right now!

Praise The Lord!!!

See you Wednesday!!!

God is STILL moving…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 9:36 pm

To All:

Just had to log in and update the blog with a few of the things that have been going on around Ocoee COG!!!!

  • LIGHT Christian Academy started this past Monday – we are off to a great start!!!
Thanks to the staff members for all they are doing to make it possible!!
  • Second Blessings Thrift Store re-opened last weekend after being closed for 15 months! God is blessing – between the sales that occurred this weekend and last weekend we are off to a great re-start! To God Be The Glory!!!
  • I had the honor of participating in two special events over the last 30 days! On July 31, Lawrence and Shirley Walker celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary! Today, August 21, Wilmer Gene and Donna Ashberry celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary! What great milestones! If Jesus tarries, I look forward to the day when I and First Lady Wendy can celebrate our 50th!!!
  • Tomorrow, Sunday, August 22, we will celebrate MIRACLE Sunday!
Ten weeks ago, we seeded almost $1,500 dollars to our congregation with one purpose – go and use your ‘talent’ for the Lord and in 10 weeks, bring back your talent with usury and its increase!
Tomorrow is that day – we are trusting God for a true miracle!!!
  • A very special guest will be with us tomorrow night!
Rev. Michael Renfroe will be ministering during our 6pm service tomorrow!!

Come be with us tomorrow!!! Service times are 8:30am, 11am and 6pm. Sunday School for all ages is at 10am.

Blessings!

God is good!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 9:39 pm

Once again, God has blessed Ocoee Church of God!

On Sunday morning, we had the opportunity to minister to 207 folks between all three services (2 anglo services / 1 hispanic service)

Our Hispanic congregation received in 10 new members to the Church of God!

Today, I conducted two interviews for potential Second Blessings Thrift Store employees and attended the elders meeting at the Hispanic Campus.

First Lady Wendy moderated the prayer service tonight at the main campus!

Three folks were scheduled to have procedures today at local facilities; all are home and doing well!

And to top it all off – God touched the heart of someone to drop by and give a donation to our church in the amount of $500!

All I can say is GOD IS GOOD!!!

Second Blessings Thrift Store moves forward!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 4:12 pm

To All:

Today has been a great day for Ocoee Church of God.

After closing our thrift store, Second Blessings, in May of last year; I’m excited to announce that our new location passed inspection today with the City of Ocoee.

Second Blessings will be located at the same site as our Hispanic Campus; occupying approximately 1000 square feet of space.

God continues to open doors for ministry in the West Orange County area and for that we are thankful!

On Saturday, I arrived back home to a ‘busy’ campus – preparing for VBS – 2010!

Overwhelmed by it all!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 8:38 pm

Wow…..

I’m humbled and overwhelmed with all that God is doing @ Ocoee Church of God.

Without going into details….in November of last year a WORD was given to me that I’ve held close to my heart.

For those that know me, you know that I’m not one that runs from this WORD to that WORD – however – this WORD spoke directly to me!

While I’m not ready to share all of it with everyone – I will say – those things that have been spoken are coming to pass!

We MUST NOT compromise the message of Jesus Christ!

We MUST take advantage of every opportunity to share the message of Jesus Chrsit with those that we come in contact with!

I’m looking forward to seeing each of you on Sunday: Service Times are 8:30am, 11am and 6pm.

Come expecting!!!

Pastor Thomas
