Two Ways of Tithing

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 10:22 am

Which way do YOU tithe?

I chose option B.

A. Tithing by convenience
Tithing by convenience is when the person gives to God what he feels he can, if and when there is something left over.
This kind of giving is inconsistent and leaves the giver with a feeling of guilt, defeat and inadequacy.

B. Tithing by commitment
Tithing by commitment is based on the conviction that it is God’s will to tithe, regularly and scripturally; and that such is beyond negotiation and compromise.
This type of tithing puts God first.
It expresses the conviction that the remaining 90 percent will accomplish more than 100 percent without tithing.

U-Turn Student Ministries

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 9:32 pm

I must give a shout out to U-Turn, the student ministries of Ocoee Church of God.
Last month, they participated n the Ocoee Christmas Parade.
Last night, their youth director, Rebecca Smith, was presented with the honorable mention trophy at the city commissioners meeting.
This may not mean a lot to some folks, but I’m proud of what this group is doing.

And, they had 21 students n class last nite!

Property Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 5:12 pm

In October 2011, Ocoee Church of God purchased the final parcel of property, which included a home, in our block. Since that time work has been done to remodel the home as needed for use. The goal was to lease out the home until its needed for future ministry growth. I’m pleased to announce that the home has been leased. We are thankful for God perfect provision.

Whole Heart Praying

‘Tis not enough to bend the knee,

And words of prayer to say;

The heart must with the lips agree,

Or else we do not pray.

Update on Fire Trucks

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 11:21 am

There is still some fire truck activity around the church campus as a result of the brush fire near our campus yesterday. Everything at the church/school campus is fine!
We really appreciate those who have called to check on us!
Blessings!

It’s Happening…

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 11:15 am

I love it when God puts a plan together!

If we will take care of His house, He will take care of our house!

I look forward to seeing everyone tonight for our first Wednesday night service of 2012!

Don’t forget – family meals from 6:30pm – 7:15pm – service starts at 7:30pm!

Fire Trucks everywhere….

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 5:26 pm

If you attempted to drive by the church/school campus today, you saw the detour and probably wondered what was happening….well everything is fine at the campus but there was a brush fire that kept the local fire department busy for several hours. Ocoee Church of God was ready to serve by offering snacks, beverages and use of our facilities as needed by the county. I’m glad we got to serve today right in the middle of a not so good situation.
