Our youth group (LIGHT Youth Ministries) will be attending a retreat this weekend at the COG Campgrounds.
I believe there are about 12 students going!
My prayer is for a safe trip there and back and that God will touch the lives of each and every student that attends!

I must say, our Wednesday nights are really going well!
This past Wednesday night, we had 79 folks on campus!!!
There were 20 students in the youth group – our new leaders are doing great.
There were 17 students in the age group 6-11. We will be splitting this group (boy and girls) within the next few weeks.
There are two (maybe three) men that will be taking over the boys groups!
Let me invite you to come and be a part of us on Wednesday nights – I’m sure you will be blessed!!

I just received word from the Church Of God State Executive Offices in Tampa, FL that the State Council approved our purchase of the land adjacent to our current property!
I will be contacting the owner later today – we will continue to move forward.
Just to recap, we are purchasing the land for $70K, down from $210K just 18 months ago!!!
Keep praying – God is moving!

Today is the day that the state council will vote regarding the underwriting that we need regarding the land purchase.
I do not anticipate any hurdles, however, please pray that God’s will be done!

I just returned from the State Underwriting Committee Meeting @ the COG State Office in Tampa.
I’m pleased to say that the committee will recommend to the State Council next week that our application for State Underwriting be approved.
If the State Council approves the underwriting, we will be able to move forward with the purchase of the land adjacent to the parsonage.
God is a GOOD GOD!!!

Today was another great day – Sis. Rebecca volunteered her time today to work in the office – we were able to accomplish a lot in 8 hours!
From answering phones to printing cards and stuffing envelopes – it was a great day!
Tomorrow, I will be mailing out 26 pastor packets to churches in the area announcing an event that is coming up on Thursday, January 29.
On this special Thursday night service, The Shepherds will be ministering in song and Quint Shepherd will be bringing the word!
I’m excited about this special one-night revival.

Tonight was our Quarterly Business Meeting and it’s now official – we will be launching a Hispanic Ministry at Ocoee Church of God.
Our target date is Sunday, March 1 @ 2pm.
I’m excited about what God is doing and I’m confident that He will continue to bless us in the days and weeks ahead!

Wow! God Is Good!
In an earlier post, I mentioned that we signed a contract to purchase the land adjacent to the parsonage.
The contract price was $86K, down from $210K just 18 months ago.
Well, the certified appraisal came back at $70K.
After speaking with the owners of the property, they have lowered the sale price from $86K to $70K, another savings of $16K.
If all goes as planned, we hope to close soon!

Yesterday was a fantastic day!
During the AM Service, God moved in such a mighty way.
In addition to the presence of God, we were honored to have Pastor Raymond, Marisole and Amy with us.
If all things go as planned, Pastor Raymond and his family will be joining us in February as our Hispanic Pastors.
Our tentative launch date for the Hispanic Ministry is Sunday, March 1.
Please continue to pray that God will bless us as we strive to do His will!

Over the last few days, the idea of of having a separate space for our youth (L.I.G.H.T. Youth Ministries) has bubbled to the top again!
There is a possibility that we will be able to have a separate space for them with little cost associated!
