A New Season

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 9:23 pm

One year ago today – the first Monday of January – after more than 15 years as lead pastor of Ocoee Church of God, I started a new season serving as executive assistant to the FLCOG Administrative Bishop.

I have thoroughly enjoyed serving over the last 12 months. I am very thankful to Bishop Tim Brown for giving me the opportunity. I am equally thankful to Bishop Stan Holder for allowing me to continue serving.

I don’t know all that the future holds for Wendy and me, but I am confident God has a plan. Until then, I look forward to serving the ministers and laity of the Florida Church of God.

Blessings!

Happy New Year everyone!

It has been some time since I have posted so I thought I’d stop by today and check-in.

Maybe I will have more time in 2025 to post – we shall see.

One Lost Sheep

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 4:21 pm

Last Wednesday Night I preached on the topic – One Lost Sheep.

I also used the same topic for both LCA Chapel Sessions that were conducted earlier that day!

I have not been able to get those scriptures out of my mind.

I’m thankful that Jesus WAS and IS willing to leave the ninety and nine for the one!

Blessings!

Day 12: Today, I’m thankful for Lola Brewer. Our paths crossed several years ago because of CGACS. Lola loved Christian Education and did everything with excellence! Lola received her final healing today, was reunited with her daughter, and has seen Jesus face-to-face!! Heaven is sounding sweeter by the day!

Day 11: I’m thankful for every veteran that has served our country. The freedoms we share today is because of their service. There is no other way to say it: Thank You!

Day 10: I’m thankful for revival. Over the past 9+ years as pastor, we have had many revivals at Ocoee Church of God. Within 60 days of being appointed lead pastor, we had our first revival. The evangelist was Rev. Ronnie Jarman. Since that time, we have had many great evangelist fill the pulpit at OCOG! So that I don’t forget anyone, I’m not going to name names at this time! Tonight will conclude another week of revival! The evangelist for this week has been Rev. Jerry Daniel. I must say from the very first revival to this weeks revival – God has been faithful and showed up every time!

I’m thankful that revival is still available – God is ready – are you?

Day 9: I’m thankful for the LOCAL CHURCH. A place where I can go, be a part of a family of faith, and lift up the name of Jesus. Yes, every church if different. Yes, every family in a church may be different. Yes, the way we worship may be different. Yes, our style of preaching may be different. Yes, our style of music may be different. Yes, the color of our skin may be different. HOWEVER, every LOCAL BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH is a part of the family of God – and that makes us all brothers and sisters in Christ! I’m thankful for my CHURCH FAMILY!!!

Day 8: I’m thankful for the Church of God, Cleveland, TN. I have been Church of God my entire life. I know there are many other wonderful denominations and churches in our world and I have many contacts outside of the Church of God, however, I’m thankful for the covering and fellowship I have with the Church of God. I realize the Church of God is not perfect – no organization or church is – however – I’m thankful for the opportunity the Church of God has afforded to me and my family to minister. Blessings!
