Children’s Service was Outstanding

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 9:06 pm

To All:

On Friday night, our Children’s Ministry Group (Kids For Christ) had their quarterly Children’s Worship Service.

I was so pleased with the turn out and with the way the service was conducted.

Not only was our church supportive of this event, but there were 4 other churches represented that night as well.

I’m so thankful that Ocoee COG has folks that are not afraid to ‘share’ what God has given them.

See you Sunday!

Talent Campaign Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 10:34 am

To All:

We are just over two weeks away from Miracle Sunday, which will be on Sunday, March 29.

During a special 11am service, we will celebrate the miracles that God has done in our operating fund campaign.

Back in January, nearly $2,000 was passed out in ‘talents’ with the simple instruction to use the talent and allow God to provide the increase.

Over the last 7 weeks many folks have gotten involved – from baked goods, to car washes, to pickles, rice wraps and even a fish fry!

God is up to something at Ocoee COG – you should come and check us out for yourself!

Remember, Jesus is coming – r u ready?

New Property Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 10:30 am

To All:

Things continue to move forward at the new property!

The decision has been made to demolish the wood frame house that is on the property!

We are currently working to get bids on the demolition.

If all goes as planned, we hope to have the house down and land totally clear (except for the three fruit trees our First Lady, Sis. Wendy, insisted that we keep) by the end of March.

I’m so thankful for what God is doing at Ocoee COG!

This Past Sunday was Great!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 10:15 am

To All:

This past Sunday, March 8, Rev. Robert Martin was with us for the 11am and 6pm service.

What an outstanding day!

Bro. Martin is a young man who God is using to carry His message across the country!

Both services on Sunday were dynamic! I’m so glad that Bro. Martin was with us.

While at lunch, it was discovered that Bro. Martin is related to a pastor that is very special to my wife.

It’s amazing – at times this world seems so large while at other times it seems so small.

To make things even more difficult – an AC Compressor went out on one of the units that cool the main sanctuary.

Bro. Martin did not let it affect him – even though the thermostat read 80 degrees during the Sunday night service.

Keep looking up – Jesus is coming!

To All:

WOW!!!            God is Good!

Our Hispanic Ministry continues to move forward!

Pastors Raymond and Marisol (along with their daughter Amy), are doing a fantastic job.

Over the next few weeks, Pastor Raymond and his group will be reaching out to our local community.

Until next time!

Rob Mercer Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 9:42 am

To All:

Bro. Rob continues to make progress – To God Be The Glory!

He was in the 11am and 6pm services on Sunday and fulfilled his obligations as an usher.

Bro. Rob was also scheduled to be involved with our new boys clubs (along with Bro. Arturo) – he was able to be in class on Wednesday night.

We praise God for what He has done for the Mercer Family!

Please continue to keep this family in your prayers.

New Property Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 8:25 pm

To All:

Well, things continue to move forward at the new property.

Today, three more dumpsters (20yrds each) were hauled away with debris from the clean up.

That now makes 6 dumpsters that have been moved out – we believe that 2 more dumpsters should take care of it.

The next plan is to make a final decision on the house – deciding if we are going to remodel it or demolish it.

Please pray that God will give us clear direction.

There are pics uploaded on the church website (ocoeecog.com) that shows the progress that has been made.

We praise God for what He is doing at Ocoee COG!

Hispanic Ministry Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 8:16 pm

To All:

This past Sunday, March 1, we launched our Hispanic Ministry!

What a GREAT DAY it was!

Pastors Raymond and Marisol put together a wonderful service.

The praise team, musicians and drama team from Better Life Worship Center (BLWC) in Groveland, FL was with us for this special event.

Bishop Juan Rivera from BLWC was here as well and we thank him for translatting for us!

Also in attendance was the Hispanic Pastor from Celebration of Praise (our regional church), Pastor Will and two of his associate pastors.

I also must brag on the number of folks that attended from the English congregation from Ocoee COG.

Total attendance was almost 150.

I’m confident that God is already moving in this ministry as one person was saved during the 2pm service on Sunday.

I have pledged my full support to Pastors Raymond and Marisol and I ask that you take a moment to pray for them as well!

Reaching souls for Jesus,

Pastor Thomas

Rob Mercer – Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — Thomas Odom @ 8:10 pm

To All:

I wanted to update everyone on Bro. Rob.

First of all, I want to say that God is Good!

Without going through all the details, let me just say that Rob is doing very well. He certainly has his sense of humour back!

He is still in Florida Hospital in Orlando.

Within the next few days the plan is to move him to the Rehab Department @ Florida Hospital.

While there, it is expected that he will receive intense therapy for the next 2 – 3 weeks.

Continue to remember Rob, his wife Tanya and their children in your prayers!
